Scott Eastman is senior research analyst at the Charles Koch Institute (CKI), specializing in the field of economic opportunity. His work focuses on economic policy issues that impact communities.

Prior to joining the CKI, Eastman was federal research manager at the Tax Foundation where he analyzed and communicated the impact of federal tax policy. He also served as a program manager on the Project for the Study of American Capitalism at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University where he managed a portfolio of research on how government favoritism of particular firms and industries impacts society.

Eastman is a regular contributor to several media outlets, including Business Insider and the Washington Examiner.

Eastman is an alumnus of the Mercatus Center’s MA Fellowship, where he earned a master’s degree in economics from George Mason University. He received his bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
